The World CCUS Conference proudly celebrates board member Professor Zhenhua Rui for receiving the SPE Sustainability and Stewardship in the Oil and Gas Industry Award, recognising his outstanding global leadership in sustainable energy development.

Prof Rui is a Distinguished Chair Professor, Associate Dean for Carbon Neutrality Future Technology, and Director of the CCUS Research Institute at the China University of Petroleum–Beijing. He also leads the UNESCO Chair in Green Transition for Carbon Neutrality and Climate Change and previously served as a research scientist at MIT.

A respected contributor to the global energy community, he has served on multiple SPE and AIME committees and is a member of the UN Expert Group on Resource Management. He is editor-in-chief of ASME Energy Resource Technology and an associate editor for SPE Journal. His body of work includes more than 120 publications, four books, and 30 patents.

The World CCUS Conference congratulates Prof Rui on this significant recognition and is honoured to have his expertise guiding its mission.
