5 June marks World Environment Day, a global call to action to protect our planet. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) since 1973, this day has grown into the world’s largest platform for environmental awareness and collective action.
In 2025, the theme is #BeatPlasticPollution – a powerful push to end plastic waste and its devastating impact on ecosystems.
While our work at the World CCUS Conference doesn’t address plastic pollution directly, let’s not forget that protecting our planet requires action on many fronts. We are proud to contribute to the broader movement for planetary health through a different, but equally vital, mission: reducing carbon emissions.
A different front in the same fight
At the heart of our efforts is carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) – a suite of technologies designed to significantly reduce the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere.
Plastic pollution may be choking our oceans and landscapes, but carbon emissions are silently reshaping our climate. Both demand urgent, innovative action – and that’s where we’re making our mark.
At the World CCUS Conference, our mission is to reimagine carbon. We’re not just capturing CO2, but storing it, transforming it, and unlocking new opportunities to use it as a resource. Whether through industrial reuse or permanent geological storage, CCUS is helping industries decarbonise and accelerating the transition to a more sustainable global economy.
Every single molecule of CO2 that’s captured, stored, or repurposed is a step toward a livable climate. It’s proof of what’s possible when engineering meets environmental responsibility – when innovation becomes a tool for meaningful change.
A future we’re engineering
Whether it’s removing plastic from our environment or cutting carbon from our industries, the end goal is the same: a healthier, more resilient planet.
On this World Environment Day, we celebrate the many paths to sustainability and the shared determination that drives them all forward.
At the World CCUS Conference, we’re engineering a better future – and you’re part of it! Register now and join the movement toward a low-carbon future.
Together, we can harness the power of CCUS to unlock a sustainable future for all.
