Philip Ringrose honoured with 2024 EAGE Desiderius Erasmus Award and CCSA Lifetime Award

Please join us in congratulating Professor Philip Ringrose of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) on receiving not one but two prestigious accolades in 2024: the EAGE Desiderius Erasmus Award and the CCSA Lifetime Award. These honours recognise Professor Ringrose’s exceptional contributions to the fields of reservoir characterisation, large-scale CO2 storage projects, and developments in CCUS.

EAGE Desiderius Erasmus Award 2024

The EAGE Desiderius Erasmus Award is a highly esteemed recognition that honours individuals who have made significant advancements in geosciences and engineering, reflecting both innovation and dedication. Professor Ringrose was presented with this award during the Opening Ceremony of the 85th EAGE Annual Conference and Exhibition on 10 June 2024.

CCSA Lifetime Award 2024

Adding to his accolades this year, Professor Ringrose was also honoured with the CCSA Lifetime Award. This award recognises his decade-long dedication and sustained contributions to the deployment of CCUS across the UK and Europe. The recognition took place on 14 October 2024 at the CCUS 2024 conference dinner.

 

Looking ahead to the World CCUS Conference 2025

Professor Ringrose serves as a Board member and co-chair of the technical programme committee for the World CCUS Conference. Leveraging his extensive research and expertise, the World CCUS Conference 2025 promises to feature groundbreaking discussions and collaborative initiatives aimed at advancing the efficiency, safety, and scalability of CO2 sequestration technologies. The focus will be on improving geological storage techniques and exploring the potential for CO2 reuse in industrial applications.
